Overview

The Giant is one of the oldest continuous racing events in the world. In the early years, all the world's major manufacturers sent their top cars and drivers to pay their respects, including Ralph DePalma (Fiat's team) and Louis Chevrolet who drove for Buick.

The hill starts with a slightly rising flat about 1/4 a mile long that leads to a fast left-handed which examines both nerves and skill. Then on a short parachute and "Devil's Elbow", a hairpin that rises sharply goes off the slope at its top. It follows a 90-degree turn connected by short planes. Then comes The Incline, and a winding section of 1/4 mile that rises 22 degrees to the finish line.
