Overview
The Olympic Discovery Trail (ODT) is a nationally significant regional trail that combines railroad right-of-way, rural corridors, low traffic side roads and highway shoulders along the northern edge of the Olympia Peninsula. Beginning in Port Townsend, the 130-mile trail travels west to the Pacific Ocean coast. The ODT is the westernmost segment of the Great American Rail Trail extending across the U.S. Highlights of the trail are Discovery Bay, Sequim Bay, the rural Dungeness River area, Port Angeles waterfront, Elwha River, Lake Crescent and the forested landscape of the western peninsula.
